The Doctor of Philosophy of Laws (Ph.D.) is designed to prepare young women graduates for careers in law through three years of coursework and the production of a broad academic scope of academic research and writing. Applicants to the MSL program are typically experienced academics with PhDs who have research or teaching goals in mind, or mid-career journalists looking for an intense immersion in legal thinking in order to better educate their audience upon their return to journalism. Curriculum for a small number of non-lawyers who wish to acquire a fundamental knowledge of legal thinking and explore the relationship of law to their disciplines. Introduction to Legal Analysis and Writing not only trains students to write one of the most widely used legal documents, but also provides them with a full range of legal tools. Legal history offers an indispensable insight into the nature of our legal systems. The Human Rights program is designed to recognize this complexity and support a diverse community of researchers at the University.
